OK got a dead Bus and a really rough sounding golf AAZ on the drive.
Exhaust came off the JX in the bus tonight (as well as most of my knuckles) so what have people used?? AAZ Inlet manifold? or JX and which turbo?
The jx turbo looks good, very little play and spins freely... haven't sacrficed the golf yet but there is a spare turbo and head in the boot suggesting that it may be iffy!
so... which bits do I use from the JX setup??
TIA

cheers all...
I have already had Sir Baxters wise words tattooed on the inside of my eyelids, but he mentions
" Use AAZ turbo, change attitude to suit JX exhaust manifold.( you can use JX turbo if required)[see note] "
And as far as I can see, there is no note. I would prefer to use the JX turbo because I know it is good as it always was in the JX, and the AAZ is questionable as the donor car doesn't run too well at the moment..
That reminds me... injection pump timing... time for another thread!

Easiest option is use the JX turbo and exhaust manifold like Andy said, seeing as you have a good one and the AAZ is suspect, and it`s then simple to use the standard JX exhaust system which will bolt straight on.
Andy says "Use the AAZ inlet manifold" so I`d go with that, they are known to have better air-flow than a JX.

Keep it real.

The page needs editing but I have lost the login details to do it!
Im just re-writing this page for the instructions for my kit but i now do things differently to what that page describes.
Best to use JX turbo and manifold, I then carefully re-profile the JX inlet manifold to suit the AAZ, that leaves a factory looking instal.
If you don't go mad and do a full match port, just follow the shape of the AAZ inlet manifold gasket and mark a couple of mm inwards there is plenty of meat left for a good seal so long as you use a new gasket.
