I wonder if someone here has any info concerning what would be the equivalent of the RAC Vehicle Check service operating here in the UK however for a van I have located in Germany.
Need to get someone qualified to look over a van I am considering purchasing and email / phone me with a report on its true condition. Looked through various forums but only come across info on how to import a vehicle from the EU. Not technically minded my self so really don't want to travel all the way over to Germany to find out the van in question is a banger and worst still that I am unable to pick up the faults and part with a large amount of cash for nothing.
Many thanks for any advice that can be given. G

German TUEV's last for 2 years, there is also a part for the emissions, the AU IIRC i have tons of German paperwork and there v v strict, theres a chance if its got a old one with not much left there can be a risk, but with a newish one it should be ok, also no salt is used i belive on German roads, so like mine no bad seams even after 25 years.
Im going v v close in a few weeks...i dont know much about VW's in general, cos this is my first, but i can spot a dog of a car and know what to look for having worked on cars for years.
Germans either look seriously after there vehicles, or treat em like crap, guess wohnmobil owners fall into the first...
If you want to drive over with me, no probs, and get a flight back from Berlin where im heading off to first...just a contribution to the fuel would be app cos im skint as normal.
Also dont say TUV, its TUEV, cos (i cant do it, cos my German keybaord aint plugged in) any word that has the 2 dots, umlauts, like Jaegermeister, i put a e after the a...otherwise it can mean 2 totally differant things...easy mistake to make, even i do it occ
My friend in Berlin, told me now, that the E Europeans and Russians etc are going over in droves and taking the best stuff back, leaving crap or rising priced stuff....
After i leave Berlin (oh and Ruegen, see how i put the e after the u, the German seaside im off to a few E German cities, as i head south, so you could fly out, then spend a few days looking around, i can get in touch with all my mates, ask them whats in local ads...or check out German ebay for a rough idea.) I never do W Germany, prefer the east but i see hundreds on the roads...untl i got mine never gave them a 2nd glance but i guess i will now.
O my god...i lost a o.....im not cool anymore KlEINER FEIGLING..
