Jack

Post by steffanstringer »

Hi, my 1988 16" Doka didn't have a jack when I got it. I just picked one up (part number 255 011 031 C) and notice that it is marked '1075kg'. Is that going be OK for a 2.5 tonne Doka?

contrary to common untruths the genuine jack is fine for use,it works better on level ground and a peice of wood underneath to stop sinking, some people prefer to carry a trolley jack instead,cj.
bought some real off roaders!!!!!!!

Trolley Jacks are ace, sorry cj but i do feel I can trust them not to break, the vw jacks look sorta flimsy to me.

High lift farm jack or similar is great esp with the height of your 16", plus it can be used for some types of off road recovery. Get the land rover defender adapter for use with your vans jacking point

https://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.a ... 2047&g=107 2000KG
or
https://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.a ... 2047&g=107 3500KG

heres one on ebay

PS the picture of the adapter for sale on machine mart doesn't look right make sure its like the one on the ebay jack like a 25mm solid bar that attatches to the jack there is a company on ebay that knock them out from time to time.

Thanks Bob - your first first url needs fixing, but I found the 43" farm jack at http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=020110505

That one is half of the price of the OEM jack

Cheers
