Intercooler on 1.6 TD.........

Post by passatman »

Hi folks.......i've just bought a bus with the above engine in......it's been sold as a non runner, but the guy who sold it took it as P/X and said the previous owner didn't know anything.....which is why i've ended up with a Syncro without anyone knowing.........

anyways......i have access to another engine which has the intercooler......can this be fitted with any benefit in the space i have?

thanks muchly.......... :)

Engine will fit fine, should be a noticeable increae in go. Intercooler will need some thinking about, airflow not good.

apparantly placement of the intercooler is a bit of an issue.

Some people put it into the left air intake, moving the fresh air to the right, some put it under the car (not good on a syncro)

Plus you also need an oil cooler, really, to get the most out if the intercooler without killing your engine.

...or so people say
Ex German army Syncro for sale
