Spare Wheel Carrier

Post by blurb55 »

Morning all, been a while but the ScoobyVelle is back from the body shop once more- they have now had it in their possession longer than I have!!

So, I can now get on with sorting the ferkling thing out. One bugbear is carrying the spare in the van (keeps rolling over the kids).
What happened to Syncroengineering.co.uk? Is Pete still making them, has anyone got and are they ok for £350?

Depending upon the answers I may look to get one from here http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2 ... onrack.htm
If we can get enough interest we may be able to collapse the freight costs and, maybe, arrange a discount.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers, Paul

Cheaper

Post by blurb55 »

Cheaper is good if they are the same quality and are as well thought through.
Tried to look at them on the link and the site does not seem to be there.
Do you have one?

I have two of Gary Lee's carriers and can attest to them being well designed and well made. They each carry a 16" wheel. They swing out of the way properly and were not difficult to install. They are, however, expensive. Gary ships promptly from Canada, and they are packed well.

Hi Jed,
if they are anything as heavy as the Toyota one I have in the garage, I am not surprised.
Rethink in order as that is too far over my budget, any pics of Pete's efforts?

BTW did you get the Syncro Doka?

A real plasterers wagon - worth Loadsa Money

Yes I looked at the canadian ones 18months ago but the carriage an possible taxes etc ruled them out. He ought to get an agent over here or something but guess the sales demand wouldn't be enough. Anyway happy with my syncropete one.

Paul. There must be a local engineering place that could fabricate you one. Long as you have a picture to work from.

Just a thought.

I am running two off at the moment, with some improvements on the first batch. They are not as simple as a lot of people assume to make. I have had more than one headache trying to get the body brackets correct. I can be contacted on 07919 411208
Pete.
