Water in Window Seal

Post by lilly »

Please can you give me some advice?

I recently cleaned the gully in the sliding window, as it was literally gowning a herb garden. Is it normal for the gully to fill up with water on the inside when it rains?

The pictures below show the water lying in the gully, but last night it was full. I'm thinking this is not normal, and if so, how does one resolve the issue? Is there supposed to be a drain hole that is possibly blocked.

I am selling the van after the Easter holiday (due to travelling) and wanted to resolve the issue before then.

Thank you.

Any water on the inside of the window is either condensation (unlikely in that amount) or it`s getting through / under the rubber seal by capiliary action. New window rubber seal should cure that, before it rots the windows out :(
Keep it real.

I had a similar problem and material in the channel the that window slides on was missing. Yours seems a bit rotted. You can buy that material by the metre from leisure vehicle windows in corby. I replaced mine and problem cured.
