120 amp alternator
the question has to be asked.... Why????
the 65 amp is plenty for most applications.. unless you are running a lot of batteries and a whopping stereo set up... 90 amp is plenty...
yes iv got three batteries on the van and stereo take a lot to that why i look at a 120 amp alternator just need to no which one be the best for the job

Re: 120 amp alternator
Some miltary spec vans have two big alternators on 2.1s. Alternator only works as hard as demand... 60 amp demand, 60 and put out. Most alternators are designed with about 50% duty cycle... to run at 1/2 rated capacity... Work them harder and their life expectancy starts dropping rapidly. A 60 amp alternator uses 1.4 horsepower at full output, 130 amp uses 2.0 hp, 200 amp uses 4.6 hp. Biggest problem would be finding a 190 amp alternator that will fit, as it will be quite large.
