Parts Suppliers for Isle of Man?

Post by Dan Wood »

Me new bus has now had a good looking at, so I have a shopping list. :(

Am I at the mercy of JK, GSF and whatever shipping costs they will charge, or is there a better way that I don't know about? I've found the quality of parts supplied from JK and GSF to be dubious in the past too....

Anyone got any spare parts lying around?

First up, I need:

Clutch master cylinder.
An LPG warning sticker.

Then I'll need:

Front brakes. The whole lot - calipers, discs, pads... :(

and whatever else the manx MOT man decicdes.
(I've seen lots of other bad things, but hope he won't!!)

Or, does anyone want to buy a nice yellow bus? Needs a bit of work!

This ebay seller has been recommended on here before, for his brakes parts:

Don't know how much postage he'll want for IOM though.

Tony

P.S. looks like he does the master cylinder as well:

Shame I am not still there as I had a good dealgoing with GSF and I used to get a lot of parts for people.. shame there wasnt enough to pay the bills though...
GSF should be able to do a parcel force one for sensible money.. but discs do weigh...

Hey Dan, are you doing the IOM VW club meet at Easter?? I`m coming over if you want anything bringing (as long as it`s not stoopid big and heavy like an engine block) :)

Try Baxter for quality parts, he does master cylinders. I can easily pick `em up from him and bring `em with me?

Drop me a PM if you want brake parts, I can source at a "competitive" price in small quantities, note that the calipers will be on an exchange basis so I`ll need something to take back with me :? Need year, type of caliper etc. Discs and pads are no probs.

I`m coming over to the island on Wednesday 20th, so be quick
Keep it real.

Thanks for the offer of help Westy.

Sadly I read your post after placing an order with JustKampers for a master cylinder. Similar price to Baxter for the part (except that the JK one probably isn't top spec) but I bet you would have brought it here for less then 17.70

I'll console myself with the fact that I ordered it very late on Monday night, it was dispatched Tuesday and turned up at work this morning. Not bad considering the last few ferry crossings have been cancelled due to the wind.

My Mum & Dad are visiting in April, so I'll probably get them to bring me the heavy brake parts over. That's if I haven't pushed the damn bus off a cliff....

I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip over here with the Yardies. Just hope the wind dies down a bit for you!

There is definitely some extreme weather at times, but I love the way it can be hammering it down one minute, and then bright blue skies the next.

Four seasons in one day! :)

So far, coming to live here is the best thing we ever did. 8)
