Surf racks on high tops

Post by Madwitch »

Ok - those of you who know us know we have a fiat camper van and we are considering having a high top fitted. It's based on an 06 Ducato but we need to be able to get surfboards on somehow. We're looking at something like Jed the Spread's surf rack but of course we don't have gutters and the roof rack fixing points are likely to be obscured if we have a high top added. Any tips/pointers/ideas? (And don't say sell it and buy a T25 - been there and done that!)

Thanks
Carolyn

Re- enfoiced internal mounting points fibreglassed in place to spread the load and provide a solid mounting.

Thanks Dave - would you be able to do this when you do the roof? Presumably there will be no bowing out on the roof?
