Usual suspects. Dirty contacts on flexible pcb, dodgy dimmer dial under light switch, and bad earth behind dash.

do you know where the earth is ? best way to clean the plastic strip (pcb?) that runs and connects all 3 of the dash light bulbs? -
my on off problem was sorted by pushing the strip connecting the bulbs tight - changing the bulbs - and eventually the switch - new dash light bulbs (squid each) and new light switch (including dimmer - a one piece) -both available from just kampers-

is it just the lights not working? or does you whole dash eg high beam lamp, fuel gauge, indicator lamps not work at the same time. give the main cable into the clocks a wiggle to see if it causes the problem.
