Rev counter probs to name but one

Post by JC »

I have just changed the alternator which had been indicating low/no charge on the warning light, and the rev counter been had not showing an increase in engine speed, just tick over revs. Following the replacement the warning light is fine but the rev counter still does not show increases in engine speed. The wiring to the alternator is as before.
The fan belt had been slipping making a terrible row and eventually snapped. The replaced fan belt appears to be running ok but the squeeling noise is still there! Any suggestions suggestions (polite!) would be most appreciated.
