Try some meths, it won't harm the paint.
Failing that Trichloroethane but where gloves and do it outside.

Getting rid of old glue

Post by meggles »

Hi, had same problem and got loads of advice. Mine was for removing the stripe and glue from a hightop so no paint underneath!I eventually used a hair drier to soften the glue, wiped over with cheap "standard" thinners and then used t-cut to remove residue.
I was then told by my brother that when he was a paint sprayer he would heat up the glue as I had done (but a professional hot air gun) and then use spirit wipe, or tar remover. Hope this helps!
