Flexi circuit dash circuit. Difference on these 2?

Post by 4gearwonder »

Hi all,

Flexi dash circuit on my '85, LHD, 1.9 Iy Desiel dash pod is well ropey - wire tracks breaking through plastic, LEDs misbahaving etc - and now trying to replace with a new one.

Went to a VW dealer today, the one for my model is now obsolete, (part number was (251 919 059 E), but they reckon they may have another one for same year van that is very similar, but this one was slightly different. On their inventory list the exact wording was this:

'Printed circuit foil for vehicle with electric control unit (printed circuit) for oil warning light (part number 251 919 059 J)

Basically could we get away with fitting this one instead? Any answers always much appreciated as usual if anyone knows of this?

Cheers all.

J is the diesel and td version which will have the glow pug light, but otherwise is the same circuit board - there will be an extra resistor wired across track 14 and if fitted there will be an extra led which you may have to remove to fit properly (the led not the resistor)
