Electric windows

Post by airhead »

Supposing I wanted to fit electric windows to my front doors, how would I go about that? Is there any readily available kits and if now what do I need to get? Can it all be hidden inside the door? Is it relatively easy?

Now you got my attention! I want to fit eleccy windows as well, mainly because I have to open and close my window loads of times a day due to havind a card pass system on the barrier at work, its hard work you know, moving that window every day!
Keeping eyes peeled on this one!

How much did you pay Hercules :?:

I have a full set of electric window regulators, with loom and switches, all working when taken out of caravelle, I was going to fit them to my westy but I am not going to bother now, I will probably put them up for sale, but will need to get an idea of thier value,

http://search.ebay.de/search/search.dll ... category0=

word you're wanting to look for is Fensterheber.. :D

A set up will sell for around the £100 BTam..

I have found brand new replica set ups for £180 which seems reasonable too.
Replica replacements for one side are £85 and if u are brave enough to go get em from VW UK they are £96 for the mechanism and £87 for the motor... Guess who had one pack up last month...

Hercules, no offence intended but will you please start punctuating your sentences properly. I have to analyse every post you make intricately in order to figure out what you're saying.

The ones in the ebay link are pretty good.
I fitted a set last year, quite good quality but you must get the motor and drive gear installed as straight as possible.

An easy installation as well.

Don't expect to win any lekkywindow Grand Prix though.

But all told not bad for the price (I paid 25 yoyos).
