Anyone heard of "Recip Trial" tyres ?

Just came across this on mobile.de

14" (185/80/14) off road tyres and got all excited ...looks good on a Syncro

had a set of those on trial when i did some work on a 4x4 mag,work well in mud,rip off of mickey thompson baja claw from the 80's to present,good cheap tyre and at last 14",cj.

Are they driveable on road at all ?

you need to be switched on when on the road,more so in the damp,there worse than a set of colway machos i had at the same time,i would still own a set and drive accordinary though,and they look the buisness,cj.

At that price you could almost have two sets of tyres ..one for on the road and one for off.

If only the swapping over wasn't so ti(y)resome

Yeees ...thinking the same thing.

It's just that they are dodgy on a wet road that has me worried because let's face it ...plenty wet roads in Ireland.

Can't really see myself changing wheels every Friday and Sunday evening just to have some fun in a muddy field or wherever for the weekend and as daily drivers these tyres just don't sound or look safe enough.

Also ...did you see the massive balancing weights that are on the rims?
I'd say those tyres are probably a good bit away from rolling round and true.

hhhhm ...this issue needs thinking over a few more times ....

Is the tread very tall on them? A pitty they aren't 205R14's, or are they compairable to one of those bearing in mind most things in that size tend not to have much meat on them?
