I want to install an underfloor Fresh Water tank in my Van, replacing the Waste Water tank that currently sits there.
I have a tap which currently switches on my submersible pump for my little fresh water tank.
If I fit an inline pump, can I still use that switch, or is there more involved with an inline pump?
I don't think I could get away with using the submersible pump, or could I?
Any advice appreciated here.

You can still use a submersible but just remember you will need to take the tank off if you need to get at it.
I fitted an inline one when i put my tank on, the type i used needs to be permanantly 'primed' so it needs to be sited below the water level in the tank in order to work.
I shoul imagine the tap/switch will still work as all it's doing is providing power to the pump.

When mine broke, i replaced it with one of these....

The pipe is the wrong size but that was easily fixed....
Works well under the rock and roll bed - self priming and all that. Put a none return valve inline too and it will work a treat.

That looks the job. Like the word "quiet" used with that pump.
How did you get around the pipe size issue? Adapters of some sort? (pardon the blatant ignorance, here)
I assume that if I stick a non-return valve in, then I won't need to worry about keeping the pump below the water level (as long as my pipe starts at the lowest point of my tank, of course).

I got round it by fitting some pipe over the pump inlets (correct size for pump) and then fitting my pipe over that - a jubilee clip over the lot and a good seal was made.
The pump is self priming - so it doesnt have to be below the water tank. The non return valve ensures you dont have to prime it every time (it takes a while sometimes) you use it.
