Subaru conversion underway - wiring help needed
Hey, this is not actually my first post but i forgot my login!!
My conversion of 87 caravelle with a subaru legacy 2.016V is underway at a local VW specialist -
They fine with the mechanics of it all but not the electrics. I had the wiring loom prepared by TSR, the guys at the garage need some extra help does anyone have any diagrams or advice? The loom is labeled ignition etc so should it be a big problem?
Cheers

Maybe you should show us photos of a few of your completed vans, rather than the same old pictures of one half finished one......

Well, pictures of the engine bays of the pair of completed vans would be a good start, don't you think?
Or are you going to come across all shy?
Don't worry - I'll host the photos for you, all you have to do is email them across to diamond.hell@iofw.fsbusiness.co.uk .

well one of them can be found in last novembers issue of proffesional builder magazine .the other im not sure if i took any of the finished engine bay ,if i did richard will have copies and there are certainly pictures of the completed wiring which is what was asked.anyway i have shown enough people and take lots more for a drive to see whats what and if you are really that interested you are welcome as well im sure that mark (beanie) would take you out in his turbo as well.or you could ring andy on 01638577622 and talk to the man that does it for a living.or any other questions i can be reached on 07887637125 and i`ll try and answer what i can.
p.s on the front page of www.tsrdragracers.co.uk it says if there are any suggestions of anything you want to see to mail me.if people dont actually do that then im sorry for the response

Whoah, whoah, whoah, I asked for pictures of your van, not a diatribe on everyone else who has a Subaru-powered bus.
Curiously I don't have any copies of Professional Builder magazine just lying around.
What's the problem here?
I'm asking as I'm prepping my own Subaru conversion. Where's the harm in asking to see how you've done yours? Not everyone wants to take their van to TSR, either due to cash restrictions, or simply because they want to do the conversion themselves.
Are you Andy from TSR, or someone else?

if you read your pm`s you would know im not andy ,besides you met him at raceshack when you went up there with dan buzzo.he reckoned you were quite a nice bloke.a little different to the way you come across on here.(but ive been told that by a few people)i know its a synchro you will be doing so why not have a look at richards his is more in keeping with what you want to do as well as him making all the parts you want to use.the only parts of richards ive used are the bellhousing and water manifold .if there are any specific pics you want let me know and i`ll still go out of my way to post them for you (even with your condiscending attitude) failing that you have my phone number

I do check my PMs and I've not got any from you, so I have no idea who you are and I don't have your phone number.
I've seen Richard's Syncro and it's (no offense to Richard) not at all the sort of conversion I will be doing. As Richard's been taken around Coney Green Farm in my current bus he knows what I'm looking for from a conversion (robustness and ground clearance, mostly).
As such I'm cherry-picking bits for the conversion and already have a bellhousing ready to fit along with various other bits.
The bellhousing and water manifold are two of the easiest parts of this conversion - much more challenging is the sump solution engine and exhaust mounting, especially on a Syncro that will be thrown around off road.

So, what have you done with the exhaust from there backwards, and also what sump is that?
