Header/expansion tank

Post by richieblade »

I'm pretty new to to T25 ownership and am starting to come across some problems. As far as i know, my T25 started life as a 1.6 petrol which has since been replaced by a seat 1.9D. It has currently got a coolant leak which has been diagnosed as needing a new header tank. Is the header tank standard for a T25 or is it dependent upon the engine. I need to order a new one but i'm not sure which one to get as tanks listed on the web are all for the original VW engines.

Many Thanks

Rich

1.6 petrol would have had to be air cooled, '79-'82, water cooled would have been 1.9

however, header tanks are same for all water cooled, unless there is a space issue with different engine fitment.

top up tanks are all the same,

Word of warning .
I bought a header tank for my 2.1 petrol from JK.
The bugger sprung a leak 6 months later. bought a VW one much better quality.
