how does the diesel heater work??

hi i have factory diesel heater fitted in my van how does it work as i nly have a german transporter/carevelle owners manual please help!!!!

sorry sound a bt thick were is it located so i can have a look
my van is an ex german army radio van

only had van 2 weeks so new to t25

if it's in the same place as the factory fitted eberspacher petrol heater (they made petrol and diesel versions) it'll be roughly in the middle of underside of the van, under a metal coverplate held up with about 6 screws, get that off, ond you should see a plate rivetted on the heater somewhere with model no. stamped on it.
theres some info about checking the petrol version on a vw manual i got on disc , not sure if diesel version is covered tho, could have a look and print the relevant bits and send it you, but it may be the sort of thing you could do with a specialist looking at for safety reasons, theres one in derby, and prob others about.
