lights

Post by dridgy »

yes i had the same thing go on mine and nearly got rear ended because of it.

it turned out to be the switch in the master cylinder that is located in the instrument cluster thing.

they are only cheap to buy but i used one from a old vw beetle that i had lying around it fitted straight in.

hope this helps.

Simple test, bridge the two wires that are on the brake light swicth. lights should work, if so then switch is knackered. 5 min job just twist and pull out i think. cheers,

Sometimes these switches may require a bit of pressure to get them to switch. Try pressing a bit harder on the brake pedal and see what happens.
I think these unscrew from the master cylinder but dont do a new one up too tight as it can crack the casting of the cylinder.
Good luck anyway! :D
