Having looked on the wiki, printed relevant info, my old man and me are going to tackle this job at the weekend, if it stops snowing/raining.
I was just wondering if anyone had some tips or pearls of wisdom they wood like to share. My Dad has had Beetles and used to working on motors, I on the other hand had a Dad that was used to working on motors
What sort of fluid is best for the job?
Thanks in advance
Pete

bled the clutch on my old Aircooled.....used the kit with a bit of pipe that runs into a jar of the fluid. John laid underneath and got a facefull of grot (get glasses/mask etc for falling fluid, rust, mud, rust oh - did I mention rust!)
Once we got the pipe on the bleed nipple, it really was easy with me pumping clutch and adding fluid, and john watching for air bubbles in the jar.
Think we used dot 4 from halfwits.
Good Luck!

check condition of nipples before getiing stuck in, allways good advice! if it appears corroded bent in any way go easy with the spanner just enough to crack it then do it back up keep working it back and forward gently so as not to snap it off. I prefer to use a bleed kit makes life a bit easier.
