Can somebody give me a bit of advice. I have recently changed the steering wheel over from the standard bus type, off a t25 (1989) to a later model more comfortable and a bit smaller. The problem is that there is movement towards the clocks, but if I put the standard wheel back on I still have that movement. What`s up and is it easy to fix
the plastic sleeve down the steering column did you cut it to piut on the adapter did you take it off or did you leave it in place , Has the column dropped down the mounts causing play ? what wheel did you put on ?
It was just a straight swop as the wheel came off a later model. The plastic sleeve is still there and has not moved, but as you say I also have movement downwards also.
then you have dropped the column down the fittings , when you put the new wheel on you pushed it down you can try the bottom connection uj and take up the slack
Great stuff, that`s what I thought as when I bought the wheel all I wanted to do was change it over (no bosse or hassle) and the guy reasured me that`s all I had to do. Many thanks Sevy
