Advice needed please

Post by mellowyellow »

Hi all,
I'm almost finished building the interior for my van. All thats left now is the electric and gas to sort.
My brother in going to install all the gas and leccy for me.(he works for British Gas).
The thing is, when its finished do i need to get all the gas and electric tested for saftey by someone else rather than just my brother??
Plus how do i stand for insurace purposes on the self build camper? Is it enough for them if i say its a self build camper or do i need any sort of certificate to say that the install is safe ?
I've rang loads of people today (caravan builders, Corgi UK)to ask this q, but noone seems to know the answer
I'm sure there are loads of you out there who's been through the same situation as this, so any help ya can give would be great :D

Change the details on your log...from panel van, to motor caravan.

Some insurers will ask what conversion it is some don't

if they want certification of compliance ask the insurance co what would be acceptable for them.
