Hands up all those that knew there was a nylon bush hidden above the Tank on the gearchange rod . I`ve just found it , the bush is broken and the rod is rubbing on the support , hence the squeaking rubbing noise travelling up the lever , I knocked up a long tube on the end of the oil can . With the noise now stopped I am going to have to replace the bush I suppose by dropping the blasted tank . I remember once reading someone who cut an inspection hole in the floor , is this viable ?.
