in the following image, should the mounting point at the rear (C) be threaded or just a hole?
all of the other mounting points are threaded in my kombi but not this one...
am i supposed to simple nut and bolt the inertia reel through the hole?
the metal looks a bit thin... :?

cheers, shapey.

Point c' was not fitted to all van's I think it was only the mutivan that has a bracket there for the reel to bolt too!
More is less, stay pure, stay poor.

I used JK fittings when I fitted mine at point C - yes the metal is thin but you can bolt on side plates from the kit either side to strengthen it. (The JK kit came with a fitting sheet - I'll try to find it and scan it in).

See below ... a picture is worth 1000 words!

Hope this helps :D

C is 2 (or 3?) 8mm holes.
Bolted into the two holes is a T shaped bracket that then holds the seatbelt reel by means of a 7/16's UNF bolt.

You can buy them from VW.
