Starting prob`s ?????
It only starts from cold off the battery
The starter turns the motor very slowly, hot or cold, but it bumps off at the first go when hot

Took the starter off on Saturday, stripped and cleaned it, and it needed it
Hi Smiler,
by stripped it, what exactly do you mean....? John's van has similar sluggish starter motor performance. Remaking the gearbox earth has helped a bit....but couldn't see an engine eart? Where would that be?
He did do the connections too....but perhaps not well enough?
thanks

Hi Emma,
literally took it apart. Took the end cap off and cleaned and lubed the oillite bush. Cleaned the brush carriers and lubed the pinion clutch and shaft.
Seperated the solenoid and polished (with Autoglym car polish) the inner barrell of the solenoid and the inner bore and again lubed before rebuilding.
Once back together I cleaned the solenoid connectors with wet and dry paper, cleaned the battery terminals with wet and dry and refitted it,
