Ducting an eber (the crispy passenger feet/cold driver prob)
Have an eber in my van (think T'onion fitted it ages back for previous owner) - now that i got a new leisure battery it works great. It's under the glove box and makes my wifes feet VERY warm.
Unfortunately I'm still cold while the smell of charred feet begins to fill the van...
SO I've been thinking - wouldn't it be better to vent it?
Are there any issues with attaching vent-hosing onto the outlet?
Once idea is to do it basic - couple of clips on outside of the dash bulkhead and then buy some lengths of duct pipe and connectors and have it on the outside of the dash.
OF course a FAR neater way would be to take off bulkhead, drill holes run pipes behind and out through vents.
Foudn this bloke http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/eberbasto who seems to sell all the bitys I'd need.
SO - anyone tried/done this?
Possiuble/impossible (i.e. what's behind the bulkhead and how easy/hard to remove)?
OR is it just crispy feet and cold heads for a good reason?

i just have a length of 60mm ducting in my van and connect it to my under glove box mounted ebber when parked up.it goes from the ebber to between the seats.or do you have an Aircooled and run it whilst travelling..

we've got a piece of 60mm flexi pipe connected, about 3 foot long and it gets pointed where the heat is needed................normally the windscreen first then the toes
got a cable tie that hooks on the fag lighter, drops down between the seats when camping

make sure that whatever you attach to the ebber is heat rated , cos it will melt them very quickly
chances are if you duct it through the vans system the air will have cooled down before it hits you ,
What richnewton has done sound about right ..
oh and yes i did help fit it
get some of this link and bend it to wherever you please

Good Afternoon Peeps
I Hope we are all well?
I have fitted the D1 Eber in Nancy and I would like to know if I can duct the heat into the floor vent system that I fitted from a synchro jobby
Its a heavy gauge plastic and think that it would stand the heat!
Has anyone already done this ? Does it work ? or shall I be the guinea pig?
Let me know please

Hi all,
Do you think it would work or be better if ?
1.It had an additional fan?
2.Or use the heater fan to assist it?
I am looking for a tidy way to get the heat from the front to the rear without having a piece of tube flopping around

tis true. about 3 years ago, I did run the ebberoutlet through the walkthrough vents, it did work sort of, but it didn't make any difference, the extra ducting took the heat away a bit, and the dl1c fan wasn't powerfull enough,
I did improve on it by making flaps for the top of the walkthrou, stopping the ebber blowing into the van heater, but tbh, it was more trouble than it was worth, so I ended up just ducting the ebberoutlet to the centre, and leaving it, I also had a extra duct I could plug onto the outlet to send it further into the back, but it made next to no difference, the temp was just as good blowing from the front..........
I now have the dl1c in the back of my current van, and its still just the same, but noisier , ill be moving it to the front again when I get chance, as its not so good for defrosting the screen in the back.............
