anyone for toast?

Just bin to camping international and for the princely sum of £3.25 you can purchase a metal rack type thingy that makes toast when you place it on a gas ring.

It has a circular metal base, with small holes punched in it, to allow the heat to cook the bread. Four slices lean slightly fowards.

So, now you westy owners can have toast!

Bought one for £1 it was really really crap. The bread hadn't toasted after 10 minutes so I gave up and just ate bread.

by the time the bread toasts (in the broadest sense of the word) its rock hard
this is a bit better from argos

Had one of the circular ones a few years ago, just end up with warm/dry bread; the one from argos is miles better

Folks, you're taking the wrong approach on this ...

...over in Germany they have 200 different types of bread that taste perfectly fine without toasting them. You can also smear butter (even butter straight from the fridge) on the bread without toasting it.

The only bread in Germany that's absolutely inedible without having been toasted is ...you guessed it ...toast

So get some German bread with your Westi and you won't miss yer toaster

I've got the latter of the 2 toasters - it also depends on how good/efficient your hob is too. On an old cooker it might not cook too quick. On my Smev it cooks really quick and of course tastes yummy - especially if it has the full cooked brekkie to go with it

I've not tried the first type, guess I won't be after reading this
