gearbox mod is the way to go really, you won`t get big enough tyres under the arches to do what you want (unless you get out the jigsaw)
Keep it real.

But you can improve it if you've only got 14's at the moment (you don't say) - but why restrict yourself to alloys?

You need to know what your current box code is to start with and checkout the options...

Yep, gearbox needs ratios changing to get the rpm down.. after spending all the effort and mony on TDi ing it would be a bit of a waste not to do the box.. and it prob could do with a freshen in any case as you are now putting a lot more grunt through it..
speak to Aidan Talbot (bloody hell he keeps popping up in loads of threads!!!!) about what options you have...

DV, DW and DT 4-speeds are often the boxes peeps look for, or something like an AVL 5-speeder (prob expensive though)

As TMT says, Aidan can do the business on any box you want, with stronger gears as well :)

You might get 5~8% with wheels and sensible Aspect Ratio tyres, rather than low profiles that are alwasy going to be just what you don't need
