Hi all,
I had to replace the tank on my 2.0 ltr Aircooled. Now i have done it the fuel tank sender unit shows i have 1/4 of a tank of fuel when its empty!!
The gauge was fine before, i think i have put it back in incorrectly. When i looked at my haynes manual it showed the float bit of the gauge toward the front of the tank, is this right??? I'm sure when i took it out it was facing the rear. Any one know which way it should be ?
cheers
ian

Think its usually to the front but it may vary. You have to mark the position of the sender before you take it out to be sure... Bit late now though! Gonna be a sod turning it round if you have to!
If you accidently bent the arm downward slightly during disassembly, that would cause the reading to be high also.
