Westy roof can be made to fit, but it will never fit properly, the original `van supplied to Westfalia for conversion has a flat tin roof pressing so the top bed sits flat, the tin-top van has a curved roof, so it doesn`t fit properly.
People on here have done it, but you need to cobble up some sort of framework to make a flat deck once the roof is fitted, not easy and not straight-forward. The other option was the late Westy camper, called the Mosaik Joker, which DID have the Westy roof, on the tin-top van, with a factory made framework etc to make a flat bunk, these are rare vehicles, so not much chance of getting the bits to convert yours.
Your other options are either get a new Reimo pop-top fitted, they still do `em, will be around £2000 fitted, or look for parts from one of the UK conversions, like Devon etc, that converted panel-van tin-tops, so their roofs will fit as long as you get all the parts to do it. It is NOT a straight-forward job.
Have a search, it`s been mentioned loadsa times in posts.
