Cab curtain track

Evening all.

I'd like to get some decent curtains set up in the cab of my van. Currently it's a slapdash homemade job with plastic rails.

A very nice chap called Gary showed off his autosleeper to me & I saw some solid metal (silent gliss?) curtain track hooked up to the cab with special fixings to the cab & sun visors.

Is it possible to still get these bits of kit & if so where from? Is it a case of visiting swap meets, or is there someone out there I can order from?

Not exactly an answer but posted as a potential (and cheaper) solution for anyone who needs to fit curtain track to a van etc. I know its not metal, but might prove useful to someone out there.

If you have access to a bandsaw, Dunelm sell two metres + of 'heavy duty curtain track' (£8.50 for two metres or more). It comes with all the bits and pieces but on its own (right) is too wide for a camper. I ran it through a bandsaw (left) and hey presto - mini curtain track! All you do then is drill and screw it as required - just done mine. Its plastic so very flexible too. You might prefer to cut it closer so the track is fastened along the 'C' shape but works fine on mine as it is.

Amusingly it says its for 'narrow bays' - guess they mean windows, not thin Type2's - lol

Thanks for that. I see the silent gliss as the sturdy approach, but didn't think to cut general purpose curtain track.

My issue is really getting hold of the fixings to put the curtain track up. I noticed the autosleeper had special clamps & they were fixed to the cab, rather than screwing the track directly on. I'll give those VWCurtains people a shout & see what they've got.

and if you dont have access to a bandsaw, i got some plastic curtain rails from a caravan shop. it was a lot cheaper than the metal stuff too.
