Heavy Steering

Hi all, finally going to get the van registered on thursday, so went to it today after its been stood for about 4 months, its a 1979 Aircooled westy with orig steel wheels and is not been lowered, the steering is very heavy, has anybody got any ideas what could be causing this? many thanks in advance dave

Low pressure tyres? Not very good balljoints? :roll:

Maybe you can use the jack and try to move the steering whell to feel if it changes...

Low tye pressures...
even with 43psi (the specified pressure) in my unassited caravelle feels decidedly heavy after the syncro with power steering.. so if you are used to modern cars with assistance, it will feel very heavy... More spinach required :lol:
