tyre pressures

have worn out my front tyres on both inside and outside edges ! middle looks ok so probably been running too low a pressure tyre size is 215 50 16 does anyone know what pressure should go in ?

I have 215/55x16" on the back of mine and run at 44psi and 205/55x16" on the front which i run at 40psi and they seem to wear evenly enough.
