hi could any body point me in the right direction with the wireing it is a 1996 2ltr 8 valve engine the one with the engine loom built into the harness thanks banty

Its simply not worth the hassle for a low power engine, a PB code 1.8 will be much easier to fit and has the same power.

the problem is i am doing it for a mate every thing else is done apart from the wireing it seems a shame to stop now thanks banty

OK but you have done the easy bit, have you got golf key/key reader immobiliser unit?

Ok it is possible then but its alot of messing about for such a plain engine. The wiring diagram is confusing as its on so many pages with other stuff, i would remove loom and strip to get rid of un wanted wires and then make to length. I can probably sort you a diagram if you have engine code.
