speedo

Post by BigTam »

The needle on my speedo jumps wildly up to about 45 mph then goes steady, what is the most likely cause, cable, drive or clock itself ?, appreciate any advice,

Hi Tam,

seeing as no-one has jumped in....have you checked the circlip round the cable on the wheel...sometimes they are loose or not there at all! Its on the passenger front wheel for RHD vehicles.

take care

I agree, had the same problem. the square hole in the grease cap is probably worn allowing slight movement. Sorted mine by putting locking wire through the hole, wrap it around the hub and twist it tight.
