WHEEZING ENGINE ANY IDEAS?????

hi all
it's been a while since I posted here but I have now got yet another problem to add to all of the others!!!
I have a 1.6 turbo lump in my bus. Yep lucky me!! But when ever I press on the throttle it wheezes at me!! I'm lost, I don't have a manual for it so need all the help I can get please..
It kind of sounds like the turbo misbehaving. the sound is there when I dip the clutch and when it is out so guessing not a clutch problem. I don't even know where to start!!

Failing that is there anyone out there that can give it a service and let me know whats wrong, I'm bit strapped for cash at the moment, I need a job and somewhere to live, so if anyone can help me with that I'd be grateful too!!!

sounds like a vacum leak maybe?
can you describe it a little better?

high pitched wheeze noise like a wheezey noise
will it trash the engine? I have a 60 mile trip to do today!!!
not good with descriptions will go out in a mo for better listen!!

well you could ring me and let me listen, but i cant promise a accurate diagnosis over a phone line, but i'm willing to try......
