I have uneven tyre wear and will get the camber checked & adjusted. But reading the archives I see reference to people changine the top wishbone bushes. How can I tell whether adjustment will be sufficient or whether bushes need replacement ...what are the symptom of worn bushes? is it clunks/noise ?

clunks, squeaks, anything not normal. Take the wheel off and get a lever under the arm pivots and see if you can flex anything more than a fraction, if you can then they are knacked.
They would have to be out of their tree to affect the camber, most likely it`s down to badly adjusted camber, non-standard suspension perhaps??

Keep it real.
