Polyurethane wishbone bushes.

Post by Brooky »

Does anybody make polyurethane wishbone bushes for T25s? If so, who & any idea how much they cost?
I've just fitted a set of new normal bushes about 2 months ago. They were cheap, very cheap! £5 each. There is a reason for this... they appear to be rubbish as they have started to creak again already, and they were properly fitted.
So I want to go polyurethane in the hope that this will cure the problem for good.
Brooky.
PS. I've tried WIKI & cannot find anything.

Yes, some have, and they are much easier to fit.. some debate whether their compliance is too low, too stiff, and transfer more force in the chassis... anyway, lots have used them ehre, in SA and the US, and they give good control of the lower arms.

Brickwerks do as complete set for the front suspension, or separately, phone SBaxter at the Brickwerks to order.... I suspect you have not bought genuine VW ones, which last many years :!:

As far as I know no one at the moment makes a polyurethane upper wish bone bush.
I am just in the process of seeing if it is possible, and if it is possible if anyone will pay for them!
Syncro is not a problem, they are easy, they are quite a complex part for the 2WD and how it is mounted.
I did speak with Powerlex today, and they don't think it's impossible, but it will be a fair bit of work and it won't be the cheapest item.

If yours want replacing spend the £25 each from VW if you want some sort of recourse if they go wrong as genuine VW parts carry a 2 year warranty.
Personally I haven't had any problems with the GSF ones. at about £11.
