Hi, help required please!

Looked on the WIKI about wheel fitment, but just finding all the combinations confusing

All I want to know is if these will fit and what I will have to do to make them fit.

Audi A4 17 x 70 e38 5x112

Had a set of alloys for a previous van and gave up after realising the amount of work that has to go in to making them suitable for the van.

Alternatively, can anyone suggest a set of alloys that require minimum modification (preferably no modification)?

Caravelle alloys and Mercedes ML are the two I know do not need any mod to the wheel
the van needed 10mm spacers and long studs for the ML's

The Audi wheels will need the centres boring out for the fronts, wheel spacers of between 5 & 20mm for clearances, depends on various things so it`s not a "get this size and it`ll defo fit" and also extended wheel studs front and rear with nuts to suit the taper seats of the wheels. I presume the size is actually 17" x 7J ? Tyres for this size rim are 215 width, watch the load ratings of the tyres.

The wheels I am after are off a 2002 Audi A4 1900TDI, part number 8E06010125C - if that helps

I realise the centre bore will probably need machining, but wil I also need spacers, bolts, studs etc and will the centre caps still fit?

Any advice greatfully received (before I part with me dosh)

You`ll need all of that, and your centre caps might not fit, depends on what size spacers/wheel offset you end up running. Where abouts are you?

I'm with Kev on this one. Got some older Audi Coupe alloys on my van with spacers etc, and it's been on my mind since I got the van whether or not they are up to the job as they are only car wheels/tyres. Going to change them soon for either Carat alloys or standard steels, (with chrome hubcaps ), with 'C' rated tyres for complete peace of mind. They fit straight on no probs.

Kevtherev, I understand what you are saying about the unsuitability of tyres on the Audi wheels - point taken! I think I may go with the ML wheels. I have got my eye on a set of 17" wheels with 255 tyres. What tyres have you fitted to yours? Do you have any problem with the sliding door catching?

I have 215/60X16" ML's on mine with 10mm spacers and long studs.
no issues with fitting or sliding door.
The tyres fitted were Pirrelli P6's. they are reinforced and rated at 99.

on a 17" rim a 225/50X17 would be required, or 205/55X17 so the speedo and gearing is accurate

My hightop JX came in at 1900kg with all gear and water in it (and me !)

you're not kidding, mines only 15 kg more than yours

is yours a 2.3t max weight coz with 4 people in it you will be overweight
