Fresh Water System

Post by beergut100 »

Hi

The interior water system in my van was faulty when I bought it, so has never been used. It has now been serviced and is fully operational, however, I don't know how to use it. :?

Could anyone point me in the direction of a guide, or just give me a quick run down of how it works?

Cheers

Conversion was by Leisuredrive of Salford. The water heater has been removed at some point, so I dont need to know how that works.

I only need to know in very basic terms how the sytem works; i.e. how to get water in and how to empty it out. I know I probably sound like a numpty, but I've not done it before and can find no info on the net.

where is the water tank, is it under the seat? has it got a big bottle top type thing on it that you undo, or is there a lockable cap in the side of the van?

If I could figure out how to post pics I'd do so, but these links should give you some more clues

Is it just a matter of pouring water in the lockable bit and emptying it out somewhere else?

And what is the little sockety thing above the lockable cap for?

That's really all I want to know; I know how the pump works.

And I can turn the taps on

I'd say you are right and you need to unlock that cap to fill up, look underneath the van and you might find an outlet pipe with a twist off cap to empty the tank

I think I've figured it out now. If I want to use a submersible pump, I have to get one that fits this socket. The Whale Superfil 80 seems to fit the bill, but is a bit expensive and I'm not sure I see the point. What would be the advantage over just filling the tank?
