Battery

Post by fried chicken »

I have a 1988 LHD reimo converted high top, at some stage a leisure battery has been fitted with a switch to change from one to the other, there is no zig unit.
Something is draining one or both batteries, but as it is not a factory fit I don't think there will be any type of wiring diagram that I can refer to.
My question is which is the original battery?? then maybe I can start to work out the wiring.
If there is anyone local to me who knows about electrics & can have a look I would be most gratefull.
Thanks
Have you seen him?

a switch? how are both batteries supposed to charge at the same time? you need to fit a simple relay, or manually charge your leisure battery everytime you go camping

disconect each battery and see what works. The battery under drivers seat on RHD is usually the main driving battery

take both batterys off and charge them with a mains charger..... then install the vehicle batter, which will have the bigger core wiring and be under the drivers seat then disconnect the earth (-) connection and connect a bulb on a couple of bits of wire between the neg(-) terminal and the earth strap and with everything switched off the bulb shouldn't light..... if it does light remover each fuse in turn untill you know what is cuasing the drainage.... then do the same with the leisure battery...... the brighbter the bulb lights the bigger the drain
