Sump Plug Gone

Post by Dubstar »

I was gonna do an oil change on a friends 1.9 waterboxer, but when I looked underneath to where the drain bolt should be there was some kind of metal repair paste instead. Is this a common occurance-the bolt being knackered that is? And can it be repaired/retaped? I know you obviously can't see it so you won't know how bad it is, but it's more of a general info question, before I hack off the metal filler and then find out I can't fix it. Thanks, Shane.
