fitting of a rear wash wiper unit

Post by hammy44 »

i have just aquired a rear wiper unit for my van, the van never had a rear wiper so any idea of how to go about fitting it please.thinking of wiring it to a dash switch as the wiper stalk will probably be incapable of operating it.i could probably get one if necessary.

Hi Hammy,

why don't you approach the breakers and see if you can get the column stalk with the rear wash wipe fitted? I have one with and without, and the stalks don't appear any different - it will only be in the functionality I suppose. It must also go through a relay somewhere, as it doesn't run continually - it is intermittant (unless I have not mastered its full potential! :D ). I have also got the rear window wash.

thanks emma for the reply i was thinking on the wiring and conections possably being different as i have no wires going to the tailgate but if the stalk conections were the same and the wiring all there except the last bit to the tailgate i could work it out
