mine at best did 33 mpg, on a run, it was in a westy high top with only 40k on the engine, the only way you,d get 60 mpg out of it would be on the back of an AA truck!!!!!

JX with a high roof on a leisurely trundle along back roads ~ 40 mpg ...but thats a personal best. Usually homed in at about 35 (30 on the motorway)

Recently the fairly empty Syncro did 34.3 mpg on the motorway run from Germany to Ireland.

60 mpg ...never, ever

60mpg and over Mmm ask the seller a question "how do you obtain such a good fuel consumption"?.The caravelle does look in good nick it would make a good camper.

An average of 30mph on mine.
Had that on the old lump which had done 187k (top end rebuilt a couple of times) and also on the replacement VeeGee lump.
Thought it would have improved with the new lump but it didn't.
Mines a high top which when you think about it is like a barn door flying down the road.
Mind you keepin the speed down to 60 helps a great deal.

44 mpg motorway driving at about 55 very light acceleration never using more than half throttle. panel van with hardly anything in it. (tool box and a caravelle middle bench seat (which is frigging heavy) so i reckon it could do better.
it was 38 before i changed the air filter for a new one.

60 miles to a tenner of fuel maybe, but not to a gallon! Maybe he got mixed up with that.
