Over Fueling problem.......

Post by wullie_t25 »

Hey guys, just bought a T25 today, my first one!!!

Its a 1985 1.6TD

Engine has a problem with over fueling. Its a little smokey on idle (not to excessive tho) however when the boost comes on all i get is black reak out the exhaust??

I think it mite be the injectors or the pump??

Anyone any ideas?????

first check the injection pump timing. pump is driven by cam belt and timing only needs to be one tooth out and this would cause the problem you describe. If timing o.k. may be worth fuel additve to try to clean injectors out or may be worth having injectors tested. try these first easiest and cheapest options.
