Hi all,
Is it possible to instal a air blower unit in place of the original (non air blowing at all) type?
only asking as after fighting with the dash, i have found that i have the old style and would really like to see the newer one in its place.
Cheers
Tom

If its the Aircooled unit you are asking about you can get a matrix with a blower but as far as I can tell it only blows cold air.....
This is yet another(from Vanfest 04) of a stash of improvement items that I have bought and still sit around waiting to be fitted

Tom,
to get heat blown into an Aircooled, I was told that you need to put a flat fan behind the grill in that big void where the w/c store the radiator. You then connect the big air hose that comes of the engine into the fan intake, and the hose that feeds the vents to the output. Switch on dash to control on/off. If you are really clever, you can have multi - speed.
I did buy such a fan for my Aircooled, but it expired before I could fit it. Still have fan if you are interested. Not overly heavy, so postage should be less than a tenner.
Paid a tenner for the fan - happily pass it on to you for the same amount, or visit your local VW scrappy and pinch a fan from a golf I think it was.
