Leisure Battery Wierdness

Post by FlowerPower »

Strange things are happening with my leisure battery!

On my control unit (Zig type thing) there's a button to press to show the charge in the main or leisure batteries. For Main it shows around 3/4 and for the leisure about 1/2. But when I disconnected the leisure it still showed the same results i.e. 3/4 charge for main and 1/2 charge for leisure even though the leisure isn't even connected?!?!?!?!?!?!?

WHY?
Peace and Love and .... ummmm all that.

I have a mistrust of instruments so I'd be inclined to blame that first. If its a swinging needle type gauge they do tend to build up an internal charge so you are probably seeing that. Buy yourself a proper digital multimeter (less than £10 from JK or Maplins) and test the batteries. Once you know the meters agree you can trust the gauge.
