They are M8x20 or M8x25 on stuff I've messed with. Thread pitch is standard 1.25. There is a spring or wave washer used on each screw too. Any local fastener supplier will be able to sort you out.

I think originally, they were 10.9 grade, but I've used 8.8 grade with no bother, even on a stupid quick motor.

I think even B&Q/ Hellfrauds sell them.

M7x1.
GSF won't sell them.
Nut and bolt places don't tend to touch such a silly size.

Saying that, I just did one that was M8x1.25.

I don't have ETKA on this computer to check, but I do think that they changed at some point.

You won't find M7 off the shelf of your average IFS or similar. It's a 'special' ... probably why VW (and to quote Si) and it's accountants changed to M8.
