Hi
Think I'm about to buy a wedge... Looking at a van tomorrow, it's a 1986 apparently MultiVan with a Westy interior and roof with 1.9 W/C engine. What should I be looking out for? Is the 1.9 enjun an OK one to go for? It's going to be a daily as I can't run 2 cars at the moment. What should I look at rust and mechanics wise on a wedge?
Cheers
Phil
Help Please. I think I'm about to buy a Wedge!

Check the buyers guide in the wiki at the top of the screen for some really good advice.
People on here seem to say bodywork first mechanicals second as body is more expensive to fix than oily bits.
If there are obvious leaks of either water or oil though it could get expensive.
Take a printout of the wiki info with you. It will help.

Not sure what a TR7 or Austin princess (wedges) has to do with a T25
But look in the WIki for some good hints and I am sure they didnt make a Multivan in 1986..... but could be wrong..
1.9 ok, but bank on wanting to upgrade to 2.1 when it goes wrong (which it will if original engine).
rust can be a real pain, so inspect underneath and seams closely.. mechanical things can be fixed easier and cheaper..
as a daily driver, not a problem if well serviced and sound, but if not you will soon be in the garage for this and that..
17mpg around town and 25mpg on a run, you may want to consider an LPG conversion....
